Dr. Tera DeLane Simmons serves as the Assistant Superintendent for Hoover City Schools in Alabama. She oversees Student Services, Transportation, and Operations. She is responsible for revising the Board Policy and the Student Code of Conduct, oversees Student Drug Testing, serves as the district contact for Student Discipline Appeals, acts as the liaison for the Police Department, Fire Department, and other emergency services agencies, and coordinates school safety planning and procedures. Previously, she was the Director of Student Learning for the Butler County Board of Education in Greenville, Alabama. In this position, she oversaw Curriculum and Instruction, Special Services, Americorps, and Career Tech. In addition, she supervised the counselors, school nurses, and media specialists. She received her Doctorate of Education in K-12 Administrative Leadership from Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia, a Masters of Education in Collaborative Education and a Bachelor of Education in Mild Learning and Behavioral Disabilities K-12 from Auburn University in Montgomery, Alabama.
