Andrea Donegan is honored to be serving as the 2019 U.S. Department of Education School Ambassador Fellow. She has served students, families, and education for the last 24 years in Burlington, WI as a school counselor at the elementary, middle, and intermediate levels. She is committed to advocacy for students, education and the school counseling profession. Andrea was named the Wisconsin School Counselor of the Year in 2015 and the state representative for the 2016 ASCA School Counselor of the Year awards. She earned her Principal, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, and Director of Pupil Services/Special Education licenses, along with the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards certification in order to grow professionally and positively impact the systems she supports. Andrea's advocacy extends to the state level as the former Director of Operations of Government Relations and current Board Director for the Wisconsin School Counseling Association. On a personal note, Andrea is mom to Savannah, a current freshman at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Cece, a sophomore experiencing early onset senioritis.
